August 30 – September 5, 2010 Hello, Everyone! We had a great time at the fellowship on Monday night! Pastor John taught us from Romans 8:5-14. We learned that the natural man lives to please the flesh. Paul said, “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (Romans 8:5,6). What does it mean to live carnally? It means to give priority to the things of the world, and to focus on the material. The Bible says, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing … For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. But seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you” (Luke 12:22-23,30-31). If we are carnally minded, we cannot please God. (See Romans 8:7,8 and 1 John 2:15,16.) But we can walk in obedience and get the victory! The Bible says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). We can be transformed by being washed with the Word of God. Husbands, may you take the time to read the Bible with your wife this week, and we will be able to live the transformed life together. We wanted to thank Michael and Golden Preciado for leading us in worship. It is always a blessing to have them! We have different events planned for the upcoming months. If you have any questions or if you would like to join us, please call Pastor John or Rynner. Thank you so much! Announcements this week...
